About the Role

Action! by Design is seeking an energetic, passionate, and self-motivated person to join our team! Our company is growing; we’re working on some incredible, innovative projects and recently launched our own podcast, and these stories need to be told. The ideal candidate for our Marketing, Storytelling & Public Relations Assistant position will have a passion for using words and imagery to tell stories that make people interested and energized by the work we do and the projects we’re helping to build in addition to having a background in digital media strategies and content writing.

We live in a social and digital world, and this role will play an important part in helping share our story. If you have a creative eye, have a way with words, and appreciate attention to detail, this position may be for you.

Primary Goals & Responsibilities of the Creative Assistant are:

  • Support our team in the strategic planning for our marketing and outreach efforts

  • Write copy for internal and external use including social media content, blogs, press releases, newsletters, and more

  • Design creative content (photos, graphics, videos) for our social platforms that tell the story of who we are and get people excited about the work we do

  • Research and recommend new ideas for strengthening our brand through digital media strategies

  • Build and maintain relationships with consumer, community, employee, and public interest groups by writing press releases and other media communications and responding to requests for information and press conferences

  • An “iPhone Photographer”; the ability to take engaging pictures at live events and quickly post and share work that we’re involved in

  • Updating and maintaining web content

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Ability to think ahead, to organize and manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to work independently

  • Copywriting skills

  • Solid understanding of the different social networks

  • Experience with graphic or video editing software (like Photoshop, Illustrator, or Adobe Premiere Pro) is a plus but not required -- what we’re really looking for is a creative eye with attention to detail

  • Experience with website creation platforms (like Squarespace) is a plus but not required

  • Quick and enthusiastic learner with professional drive

  • Legal authorization to work in the US

Starting, this is a part-time position at 16-20 hours per week paying $17/hour.
